B. S. K. College derives its name from a noted industrial house of Chirkunda, M/S BHOLARAM SHIBLAL KHARKIA. The propriters of the house Late Kishan Lal Agrawala and Late Raghunath Agrawala became the only donors for the College. They were owners of Merah colliery before nationalization of coal mines in 1973. They had also strong foot-prints in the ceramic industry as they were owners of Maithon ceramics Private Limited and Valley Refractories Private Limited. The College did not face any financial crunch in its initial years because of the generous donations from this houses. As a tribute to this philanthropic activity of the industrial house, the College carries the name B. S. K.
